¨¨Metáforas Geométricas¨ can be described as a translation exercise that takes as its "source data" a series of geometric patterns formed by regular polygons and as its “target data" a musical score. The vertices of each polygon are translated into musical notes, keeping together the same relationship they had in their original geometric sense.
The purpose of this project is to achieve a loyal sound interpretation of a mathematical phenomenon, transforming the abstract of a geometric figure to the concreteness of a musical note.
The project concludes with a series of 12 digital prints of a geometric pattern with their respective translation to musical notation. On the other hand, there is also a musical composition where all the scores resulting from the translation exercise are used. That composition has the possibility of being performed live by a musical ensemble.
