Screen printing on felt and aluminum sheets: 80 cm x 60 cm.

This project is based on the premise -Sound absorbed by a soft and porous body is similar to what shadows are to light- posed by Athanasius Kircher, “Ars magna lucis et umbrae” (1646).

The purpose of this work was to develop a series of devices that allow us to analyzed light and sound as a vibrating waves.

The materiality of the elements that make up the piece (aluminum and felt) directly affect the propagation of these waves (light / sound) in space.

These devices reflect and absorb both light and sound, the piece its activated from the reproduction of an electroacoustic piece; The sound is conducted through the aluminum sheet while the felt contains the vibrations that emanate from the surface.

The composition is made based on audios of plasma explosions on the sun recorded by NASA in recent years.
