Semantic satiety is a psychological phenomenon in which the repetition of a word or phrase causes the temporary loss of its meaning for the listener, who then perceives it as meaningless repeated sounds.
Based on this psychological effect, the proyect seek to represent the flows of information regarding violence, how the saturation of information can change our perception of the facts.
In Mexico, violence has become common in te last years, Mexico is a battlefield where, according to international authorities, more people die than in countries that are at war, we have become accustomed to these actions and as a consequence tragic events lose their meaning and we lose the sensitivity to perceive them.
The screenprint contain a calligram formed by the phrase "Un pais violento" which its mean "A violent country". The phrase repeats until it becomes illegible, losing its meaning and forming figures that could be perceived as harmonic.
